We decided to try this idea I saw over at Preschool Playbook. So simple and so useful! You could use it during B week for birds, C week for Cheerios or O week for circle shapes (it’s also winter by the time we make it to O week and the birds are hungrier!)
- Let the kids each choose their favorite pipe cleaner color. I found these fun stripy ones at Joann for $0.99.
- Loop and twist the end (keeps the cheerios from sliding off)
- Let the kids thread Cheerios (or other O-shaped cereal) on the pipe cleaner.
- Loop and twist the other end.
- Hang on a branch outside!
This is a great project to do with your kids! I'd love it if you'd link this up to my Home and Family Friday linky party.

ReplyDeleteGreat idea!! We are going to make some this week.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from the Whatever Goes Wednesday link party! LOVE this idea - seems much simpler than the pinecones and peanut butter. Plus, we have a ton of cheerios that my son (for some reason) now won't eat. Thanks for the idea!

The birds haven't touched our Cheerios. Sad! Did this seriously work for any of you? Maybe if it were dipped in pb and birdseed. Anyway, our 3 have remained untouched and have now shrunken in the sun and air, but the kids had a blast making them so, that's good! :) And we'll have fun doing a second/different craft together.
