- Read "Silly Sally" by Audrey Wood.
- Before you read!
- Play upbeat music & have the kids walk around the room.
- Stop the music & suggest another silly way to walk (sideways, flapping arms).
- Play music again & walk a silly way.
- Tell the kids the book is about Silly Sally who walks backwards & upside-down.
- After you read!
- Take a full body picture each of the kids holding her hands up in the air.
- Cut the kids out, laminate and attach to a popsicle stick.
- Build a town out of blocks and walk themselves upside-down through the town repeating the first line in the book using their own names. "Silly Matt went to town, walking backwards, upside down!"
