Easy Lunches

This is how we do lunch.

I use Easy Lunch Boxes and they … are easy Smile

My 6-year-old started first grade this year, so this summer I was on the lookout for an easy way to do lunches. After looking around and reading reviews, I ordered 2 sets (4 containers to a set, so 8 altogether) of Easy Lunch Box containers and one of their insulated lunch bags from Amazon.

I actually enjoy putting together lunches in the morning. I send one with my 1st grader, and also make one for my 2 and 3-year-old while I’m at it. So come lunch time, they just run to the fridge, get their own lunch box and lunch is ready. I love it … and they love having special preschool lunch boxes.

Things I really like:

  1. They are reusable. No plastic baggies to buy!
  2. The containers have three sections, one is the perfect size for a sandwich, two smaller for sides. And they can hold a surprising amount of food if needed.
  3. One lid covers all three sections. Easy!
  4. The lids are secure (but not leak-proof on purpose) so my kids can take them off themselves.
    • TIP: I use a little Glad Press’n Seal if I put anything a little runny inside (like ketchup, yogurt or peaches with juice). Wax paper works too.
  5. Three containers fit inside one lunch bag perfectly. Great for taking on a picnic or to soccer games. Otherwise, one lunchbox fits with plenty of room for extras and a drink.
  6. I love the variety of meals I can send to school. All in one container. So easy.

Here are some of our lunches:

This is where I got some of the extras:

  • Sippy Juice Boxes … $1.99 each at K-Mart. Perfect size and they don’t leak! I’ve seen similar juice boxes here but they’re more expensive Confused smile
  • Light My Fire Sporks … come in a set of 4 here. Reusable spoon & fork in one. I’ve been very pleased with the design and durability.
  • Silicone Muffin Cups … set of 12 similar to these. I found these red ones at Bed, Bath & Beyond. They carry other colors at Michaels & Jo-Ann. Perfect for dividing up the larger section. Love using them!
  • Flexible Ice Mat … these fit perfectly in the bottom of the lunch bag but you can also cut them to whatever size you need. I throw them in the freezer at night and grab one in the morning. Available here.

P.S. I wasn’t paid to say any of this. I’ve just really enjoyed using Easy Lunch Boxes and wanted to pass it on Smile
